"In any given moment you can create peace by living it." - Dr. Peebles
I have just finished reading a very revealing book by Jean Béliveau entitled "L'homme qui marche" (The Man Who Walks). It is the journey of self discovery of one man through the mirrored reflection of all the people he meets during his 11 year, 75, 500 kilometers and 54 pairs of shoes odyssey around the world.
I applaud his great courage in allowing the reader to travel deep into his thoughts which reflect all the colors of the rainbow within our souls. During his trek, Jean describes his emotions of the moment without editing for fear of being judged. This book is a unique opportunity for us to walk in his footsteps and see with his eyes and heart the many layered diversity of our common human experience.
Although he walks for peace and the children of the world, Jean is very candid about the personal moments in his life which launched him onto this path. These events speak to all of us, even if he chose the ultimate quest in order to seek personal inner peace.
I invite you to visit his website which is translated from French into English and Spanish. You will also find there a documentary with English sub-titles, "Wings on his Heels: The World Wide Walk of Jean Béliveau".
