"Happiness is when "I" am loving". - Lester Levenson
Are you familiar with the expression " a blast from the past"?
It can be as simple as an unexpected phone call from an ex-husband or as complex as experiencing flashbacks from a parent's chronic illness during ones childhood. Throughout our life, we are constantly offered opportunities to release past experiences that created emotions from a place of fear (anger, anxiety, sadness, frustration etc...) rather than love. These buried feelings are literally imprinted within us on a cellular level and, if they are not progressively released over time, they transform into blockages which often lead to manifestations of physical dis-ease (addictions, reckless behavior and various forms of ailments).
Many spiritual teachings have the following common thread. The purpose of our human existence is Infinite Intelligence wishing to experience itself. It is a journey of Self discovery. This understanding also supports the belief in past lives and reincarnation as a mystery school. Over time, this process leads to the final graduation, back into Self realization.
Speaking of schools, during my trip to Sedona, when I stayed for a few days at the house where A Course in Miracles was taught, I was presented with the Book of Life. I was told that, based on tabulated individual information (birth dates, astrological signs and such), one could open the book at the designated numerical page and read its recommendations or cautionary tale. When my calculations were done, they were rechecked because the page in the book was blank. I was told that this had never happened before and when they turned every page in the Book of Life, my page was the only blank page to be found.
So, does this mean that I am writing my own life story or that I will successfully release all past unresolved issues in this lifetime?
I have no clue, but I am, as always, curious about and grateful for the opportunity. I am not always "happy" about all the circumstances, but I am appreciative, if not yet fully accepting, of its teachings.
