"The grandest of things are achieved with a light heart: allow your soul to smile."
An open mind means that all previous thoughts, beliefs and perceptions must be released to make room for what is. Since everything is both real and unreal, this leaves a lot of room for "stuff" to stick or accumulate. Whether it be negative thinking, difficult memories, piles of paperwork or a collection of salt and pepper shakers, we hold on to stuff as if our life depended on it.
In a way, it does. According to Tony Parsons, author of The Open Secret, " The individual fears most its own absence". Our greatest addiction is our attachment to the concept of "me". Yet, quantum physics and ancient mystics point to the idea that all there is can be resumed to boundless energy. Everything is manifested and unmanifested potential. Only "me" needs a reason. Everything else, from the tree to the moon, just is.
If this feels like circular thinking, welcome to the merry-go-round of human existence. I have spent much of my life-time constructing and deconstructing scenarios or dream stories, rather than simply being without self-consciousness. I have been dangling from the Ego Cliff and still suffer through the process of trusting and then....releasing. This energetic shift is what Tony Parsons refers to as Liberation and Lester Levenson spoke of as true freedom, Love.
It is amazing and the ultimate joke that all our "stories" are window dressing for life simply happening. No more, no less.
So cool, so simple, so funny and so not important.
