Without play, there is no lightness of being. We undervalue the experience of play, because we have been taught that it is not a productive and "serious" way of being. Yet, all species begin their exploration of life with the activity of play. One could conclude that, without play, we cannot express our Light.
Even our language uses the term extensively. For example, we play an instrument, a role in our company or a sport. How we play is just as important, if not more so, than what we play. We currently favor competition over collaboration, which is why we experience life as difficult rather than a flowing expression of energetic being. It is the difference between feeling energized by the activity of play or weighted down by life's perceived obligations and responsibilities.
In the greater scheme of things, Life can be observed as playing a game versus being played. The first option empowers and frees you, while the second enslaves you. It is a subtle but very powerful difference of perception, which in turn, manifests a life of creative opportunities or servitude. Again, this is not a judgment call, but a daily choice we make with every thought and desire.
How are you playing the game of human life?
