"We are wired for the mysterious." - Rob Bell According to Rob Bell, author of the book , "What we talk about when we talk about God", we are in a crisis of wonder. Even though we have thousands of opportunities to "entertain "ourselves, we are literally bored and more importantly, disconnected with what life is truly about. Our stressful lifestyle, automated customer service and the increasing demand for "speed", leaves us exhausted and bewildered. The constant marketing campaigns are insisting that we should be "plugged in" or else we will fall behind and miss out. Miss out on what exactly? Nothing. Technology can enslave you or, when used with intent and purpose, it can free you. Again, your life is your masterpiece, to do with it as you wish. Stop, be still, center yourself and answer your questions from within, then, and only then, plug yourself back in, if needed. The Internet, tablets, computers and "smart" phones are tools, not the message. Use your voice and decide for yourself if technology adds to or takes away from your sense of wonder when you explore your life. If it does, remember that all things used in moderation stay in balance. Step away, when needed, usually every 30 minutes or so for me, so that my physical body experiences movement at regular intervals and my sensitivity to electrical current remains a consideration in my daily routine. If everything is spiritual, then how we choose to deal with all that exists around us will determine whether we flow with what is or resist and suffer unconsciously. I, for one, have never been attracted to martyrdom and now, more than ever, living consciously is my go to option, especially when I stumble on my path, which is often. Be kind to yourself.
