"If you wish to understand the Universe, think of energy, frequency and vibration."
As it frequently happens, the title of this post was inspired to me days before I actually sat down to write the text.
The teaching of expectation is the dancing partner of disappointment. This is a timely lesson for our era, where even on our spiritual journey, the ego continues to promote itself within the dialogue.
Case in point, we are literally being bombarded by promotional messages to address our need to belong to the newest tribe. Yet, can awakening or transformation truly happen or co-exist with the latest purchase of a book, attendance at a workshop or membership in a full-service packaged group experience of "enlightenment"? The answer is both yes and no.
If you consciously observe yourself when interacting with these often tag line messages, you will notice that you will react strongly when a phrase or situation resonates with you. There is a kernel of Truth in everything, even organized religion. This is where the classic quote regarding the journey being just as important as the destination comes into play.
Whether you are speaking to a full house at an event or sitting in contemplation within an empty room where no one, except yourself has shown up, it is in essence the same thing. You are One with yourself, your energy, at all times. What resonates with you at any particular moment is an indication of how far you have traveled in your human journey. The practice is in becoming present to the teaching.
How does this fit with our society's driving desire for success? It simply does not. Success is defined in our modern dictionary as the attainment of wealth, position, honors, or the like. I could not find words such as evolving, achieving spiritual growth or connecting to a deep knowing in any of the definitions on-line. So my understanding is that you can chase success or you can be guided in life by standing in your own Truth.
If we are lucky, most of us will experience the two endeavors in order to better understand the difference and contrast in this lifetime.
No worries. It is all simply...divine.
